Organise your getaway

We want your experience at Cortijo Pinar to be comfortable, smooth and, above all, unforgettable. Here is a practical guide to help you plan every detail of your visit, from what to bring to what to do in the surrounding area.

Own vehicle

We recommend it, as it will give you the freedom to move around the area comfortably.

Best time

Spring and autumn, for the mild climate and tranquillity, although summer is perfect if you want to take advantage of the swimming pool.

Close to services

A few minutes drive away you have access to everything you need (Níjar, Campohermoso…).

What to bring

Comfortable clothes, walking shoes, sun protection, something warm for the night and a lot of desire to disconnect!

Nature and routes

Hiking through pine forests and rural paths

Explore nature trails through pine forests, dirt tracks and typical landscapes of inland Almeria. From the cortijo itself you can start walks of varying lengths, ideal for all levels. Walking along these trails is a perfect way to connect with nature, breathe fresh air and enjoy the silence of the countryside.

If you like cycling, the surroundings of the farmhouse are ideal for quiet or more demanding routes. You can ride along country roads between farms, climb to natural viewpoints or even cycle to some of the nearby villages. An active and different way to discover the area.

The farm and its surroundings are a small paradise for photographers and wildlife watchers. With a little patience, it is possible to spot local birds, reptiles and small mammals. The sunrise and sunset lights turn any corner into a perfect frame.

Beach and sea

Beaches of the Cabo de Gata Natural Park

Only 15-20 minutes away by car you will find some of the most impressive unspoilt beaches of the Mediterranean: Los Genoveses, Mónsul, San José or Las Negras. Fine sand, crystal clear waters and unique volcanic landscapes await you in a protected and undeveloped environment.

If you are passionate about the sea, take advantage of your stay to discover the seabed of Cabo de Gata. You can snorkel in transparent waters, dive with instructors or rent a kayak and reach hidden coves accessible only by sea. A natural, peaceful and magical experience.

Excursions and local culture

Cultural visits to Níjar and charming villages

Níjar, just a few minutes from the cortijo, is one of the most beautiful villages in Andalusia. Stroll through its whitewashed streets, discover traditional pottery workshops or sample the local gastronomy. You can also visit nearby villages such as Rodalquilar or Fernán Pérez, each with its own character.

The local cuisine is simple, tasty and based on local products. In the restaurants in and around Níjar you can try dishes such as stewed wheat, gurullo, choto al ajillo (kid with garlic) or fresh fish. And if you prefer to cook at home, the farmhouse has everything you need to prepare your own rural feast.

Sometimes you don’t need to do anything to enjoy yourself. A hammock, a good book and the shade of the pines can be the best plan. Afternoons at the farmhouse invite you to stop, observe the landscape or simply close your eyes and let yourself be carried away by the sound of the wind and the birds.
